Skin Peels

A skin peel is a non-invasive treatment with no down time and little to no unsightly shedding or irritation.

What is it used for?

Our powerful peels contain a range of TCA, AHA and BHA acids, growth factor peptides which stimulate the cells deep within the skin to promote the production of collagen and elastin. They also contain antioxidants to combat free radical damage, vitamins and lightening agents to even out skin tone and have an antibacterial effect. Their unique formulations allow them to penetrate deep into the skin. There are peels within our ranges that can be safely used on all skin conditions, types and colours.

Skin peels use different acids to target different skin concerns and we offer both superficial and medium-depth peels.

Superficial peels use AHAs such as glycolic, lactic, malic, kojic or a combination of these acids to penetrate the outer layer of skin whereas medium-depth peels usually have a relatively high concentration of glycolic, lactic, salicylic, or trichloroacetic acid (TCA).

Skin peels offer a multipurpose resurfacing solution effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation issues like age spots, discolouration and uneven skin tone. They are used to improve acne damaged skins, reduce blocked pores and the redness associated with acne conditions. Recommended for;

  • Acne
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Blocked pores
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Congested skin
  • Wrinkles and fine lines

What does the treatment involve?

After an initial consultation the treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, however if combined with Medical Microneedling, the treatment will last an hour. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and prepped then your eyes will be covered with eye shields. The peel is painted on over your face. There is generally minimal discomfort with a hot, tingly feeling whilst the peel is working. The peel is left in place for up to 10 minutes then removed and serum, moisturiser and sun protection applied.

After treatment, the skin may feel warm, look rosy and may feel slightly dry for the first few days however it will feel softer, smoother and appear brighter. Sunscreen must be worn daily post peel. A skin care regime will be prescribed by your practitioner which will enhance the overall results. A recommended course of six peels 1-2 weeks apart is advised with 4-6 weekly maintenance treatments.

Will my skin peel off?

There is minimal downtime with our peels, there may be a little redness and some minor flakiness around days 3-5 post-peel, similar to peeling after a tan. After your treatment it is essential that you continue to wear a high SPF facial cream to protect your skin from sun damage and to maintain the best results.

What can I expect straight after a chemical peel?

The skin can be initially tender and will be more sun-sensitive as the epidermis renews itself. After the peeling takes its course (usually 3-5 days after treatment), fresh new skin emerges and ingredients in homecare products start to work more effectively.

Are there any special precautions I should take?

After your treatment it is essential that you continue to wear a high SPF facial cream to protect your skin from sun damage and to maintain the best results.

Can I have these peels when I am pregnant?

No, unfortunately these peels are not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Can I have a peel anywhere else on my body?

Chemical peels are usually performed on the face, but may also be used effectively on the neck, décolleté and hands.
