Skin boosters

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are powerful, bioactive molecules derived from DNA and RNA that support skin regeneration at a cellular level. They work by stimulating fibroblasts, increasing hydration, and reducing inflammation, making them a perfect complement to micro-needling treatments for enhanced skin rejuvenation.

How can polynucleotide treatments help?

This treatment works by stimulating cellular repair, encouraging skin regeneration through the activation of fibroblasts. As a result, it boosts the production of collagen and elastin, helping to strengthen the skin’s structure and improve overall firmness and elasticity. At the same time, it delivers deep hydration by attracting and retaining moisture, leaving the skin feeling more supple and refreshed.

In addition to its rejuvenating effects, it helps reduce inflammation, soothing irritation and accelerating the skin’s natural healing process. This leads to a noticeable improvement in skin texture, minimising the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and enlarged pores. It also enhances the results of micro-needling by improving product absorption and maximising treatment benefits. Recovery time is shortened, allowing the skin to heal more quickly, with results that can continue to improve and last for up to 6–8 months after treatment.

How the treatment works

Find out more about the polynucleotide treatment process and what you can expect at Rediscovered Skin Clinic.

01

Consultation

We assess your skin quality, hydration levels, and areas of concern to decide if skin boosters are the right fit. This is about improving the condition of your skin, not adding volume.

02

Treatment Prep

Your skin is cleansed and numbed for comfort, and the treatment areas are carefully mapped out. We’ll talk you through exactly what to expect before we start.

03

Treatment Process

Tiny injections deliver hydrating and regenerative ingredients directly into the skin, improving elasticity, texture, and overall glow. Think better skin, not bigger features.

04

Aftercare

You may have small bumps or slight redness for 24–48 hours. Skin gradually becomes more hydrated, smoother, and healthier over the following weeks.

What this treatment works well with

Polynucleotides work exceptionally well as part of a combined treatment approach to support skin regeneration and overall quality. While polynucleotides help repair and strengthen the skin at a cellular level, micro-needling and RF micro-needling create micro-channels and stimulate collagen production, enhancing their absorption and effectiveness. Chemical peels improve skin tone and clarity through gentle exfoliation, while skin boosters provide deep hydration and nourishment. Together, these treatments promote healthier, smoother, and more resilient skin.

FAQs

You will generally start to see improvement in hydration levels in your skin around 1-2 weeks after your first treatment. The best results come in the weeks following as your collagen network is rebuilt.

We can apply a numbing cream to the treatment area for 20 minutes before treatment so the process is not painful although there may be minor discomfort as the product can sting a little.

The results of improved skin hydration and reduced skin pigmentation last 6 to 9 months.  This may vary and does depend on factors such as the structure and condition of your skin, lifestyle factors and age.

The procedure has no downtime (although as with any injectable treatment there may be bruising and swelling) and the patient can immediately continue as normal.  On occasions there may be significant swelling in the under eye area.

As with all our treatments you will have a full consultation and medical history taken.  Treatment with skin boosters is not recommended in the following instances;

If you have a skin infection in or near the treatment area or are unwell in any way (even a cold).

If you have previously experienced allergic reactions to any of the ingredients or local anaesthetic

If you are taking any medicines which affect bleeding, such as aspirin or warfarin, or have a bleeding disorder.

If you are taking steroids or have autoimmune disease.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding

If you are currently or have recently completed a course of Roaccutane (Isotretinoin acne treatment) in the last 18 months.

If you have suffered from keloid scars, scleroderma or epilepsy

Your skin may have pin prick marks & tiny blebs/bumps at the injection site. There may be some redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising which should settle within the next few days. Makeup should not be worn for 12 hours.
